Cherokee Heritage Day - A Children's Event
Cherokee Heritage Day formerly Nancy Ward Cherokee Heritage Day is a cultural event for children to learn more about the traditions of the Cherokee people. Join Eastern Cherokee teachers, demonstrators, and storytellers from Qualla Boundary and Snowbird community as they share the traditions of their great and proud people. Discover and try your hand at traditional crafts. Learn about the Eastern Cherokee language and writing system. Hear the oral traditions (stories) passed down for generations among the Cherokee people.
The day begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends around 2:30 p.m. and includes a series of classes and a self-guided tour of the museum. School groups are welcome; please call for more information and to register.
